The Chance MC40 is a mission-capable uncrewed surface vessel designed to support long-duration autonomous operations with power-intensive and mechanically complex payloads. The platform integrates a central moon pool and a large aft mission bay to accommodate fixed, retractable, profiled, and towed payloads, enabling flexibility across a wide range of maritime missions. Mast-mounted visual and thermal cameras, radar, and AIS provide continuous 360° situational awareness, while an onboard gyrostabilizer improves platform stability and data quality in higher sea states. The MC40’s autonomy architecture supports remote command, control, and monitoring via redundant Starlink satellite communications, with optional Silvus mesh radio links for resilient networking in distributed operations.
