The SEA-KIT XL-Class is an 18-meter, next-generation uncrewed surface vessel (USV) built for heavy-duty offshore operations in challenging seas. With a seven-ton payload capacity, strong bollard pull for towing large sensors and spreads, and the ability to launch and recover ROVs and other payloads, it delivers capabilities comparable to DP2-class vessels. Certified for unrestricted Cat 0 operations, it features redundant station-keeping systems and a large lithium UPS supply for mission resilience. Developed through industry collaboration and first ordered by Fugro as the Blue Eclipse, the XL-Class is designed to extend endurance, versatility, and sustainability in offshore survey and inspection missions.

The XL-Class integrates SEA-KIT’s G-SAVI control and surveillance platform, enabling remote helm operation, over-the-horizon control, and autonomous mission execution. Its autonomy suite supports dynamic route planning, obstacle avoidance, precision station keeping, and full remote supervision from onshore control centers. When paired with advanced payloads such as Fugro’s Blue Amp electric eROV, the XL-Class achieves comparable inspection performance to conventional DP2 vessels while delivering safer, more efficient, and lower-carbon offshore operations.
