Janus Marine & Defense has launched Janus Navigator, the industry’s first mission‑focused, filterable database comparing nearly 200 uncrewed surface vessel (USV) platforms with sales capability.
The South Carolina‑headquartered autonomy specialist says Navigator lets buyers assess platforms against mission profiles and technical criteria rather than relying on OEM marketing, covering craft from high‑speed hydrographic survey boats to security and maritime robotics vessels.
The site enables users to filter by mission, vessel size, class and availability, and is designed as the first step in Janus’s lifecycle‑management model: once a platform is chosen the company supports sensor and payload integration, operator and maintenance training, and client‑specific preventive maintenance systems. Janus is also the first USV operations and sustainment firm authorised by multiple manufacturers to act in a resale role.
“The USV market is growing rapidly but it is very fragmented,” said Janus CEO Jack Dougherty. “There has been no standardised, cross‑manufacturer comparison framework focused on mission suitability. Navigator provides that structured comparison layer.”
