The Janus Review
The purpose of this review of current USV technologies is to consolidate extensive information about global Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) and their capabilities into a singular resource. This review aims at fostering innovation within less developed segments of the field by examining the status of the USV industry, highlighting its achievements and developmental hurdles, while categorically evaluating USV providers. Janus Marine and Defense LLC’s goal is to arm readers with basic knowledge of the industry’s existing technology and the difficult engineering problems to fuel engineering solutions forward within the industry.
Simply Put: We wanted to know “who was doing what” in order to aid an industry-wide paradigm shift within the USV industry. This allows for moving away from the “How can we make these vessels work better?” mindset and transitioning to “How can we make these vessels do more?”.
